Description: Gastrin is a hormone that regulates the production of acid in the stomach. It is produced by special cells called G-cells in the stomach during the digestive process. When there is food in the stomach, gastrin is released into the blood. Small amounts of gastrin may also be produced by the pancreas and possibly the intestines.
