Description The Comprehensive GI Assessment (#401-EXP) is a significant upgrade to the existing #401 profiles. Continuing with the proven quality and value of the #401/401H, the #401-EXP expands not only the reporting of organisms and interpretive commentary, but also adds a new and critical component to the panel: Functional markers for digestion, inflammation, and immunology.

The New Markers included:
Elastase-1: Identify pancreatic insufficiency
Steatocrit: Excess fecal fat/poor digestion
Calprotectin: Inflammatory bowel disease pre-screen
Eosinophil Protein X (EPX): Sub-clinical chronic inflammation
Secretory IgA: Intestinal immune defense
Lysozyme: Indicator of gut inflammation
