Description: AChR antibody is a protein found in the blood of most people with myasthenia gravis. The antibody affects a chemical that sends signals from nerves to muscles and between nerves in the brain. These antibodies (binding, blocking, and/or modulating) are detectable in the serum of 90% of patients with generalized MG and in 55% to 70% of patients with ocular myasthenia.

Alternative Names:Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptor (AChR) Binding Antibody; AChR Antibody; Myasthenia Gravis Antibodies; Acetylcholine Receptor Binding Antibody; Acetylcholine Receptor Blocking Antibody; and Acetylcholine Receptor Modulating Antibody
